Smithtown Building Closed: Renovation Work Underway!

The Smithtown Building is officially closed!

The former Circulation and Reference Departments have been packed up and contents are ready to be placed in storage during the renovation work.

A view of the second floor. This section held the 900s and the Young Adult area.

This was the fiction area. Note the elevator on the right hand side of the photo and the doorway to the staircase towards the center. Shelving has been dismantled and will be stored for future use once the building reopens.

The Children's Room has been emptied and the shelving will be taken down for temporary storage.

The Periodicals Department in the lower level is being prepared for the move.

A new roof is being installed.

Work Continues at the Kings Park Branch!

The foundation has been poured for the building expansion.

New metal studs are applied to the walls of the former Children's Department on which sheetrock will be attached.
