Grand Re-opening at Commack May 13, 2011

The Commack Branch officially opens to the public!

Library Director Robert Lusak welcomes the public back to the Commack Branch.

Library Board President Joseph Vallone delivers the opening remarks to those who attended the Grand Re-opening of the Commack Branch.



Library Board Members accept a proclamation from Congressman Steve Israel's Legislative Aide.


Commack Community Association President Bruce Ettenberg offers a history of the creation of the independent Smithtown Special Library District.


Suffolk County Legislator Lynne Nowick had the honor of cutting the ribbon.







Kings Park Groundbreaking Ceremony May 13, 2011

It's official! Kings Park is closed after the Groundbreaking Ceremony on May 13, 2011.


We're on our way! Work begins on the Kings Park Branch.


Director Robert Lusak addresses the crowd at the Ceremony, as Board Members look on.


Kevin Verbesey, Director of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System speaks on the importance and value of community libraries.



Michael Rosato, from the Kings Park Civic Association, thanked the Library Board of Trustees and the project architect for their cooperation with the Kings Park community in planning an outstanding building.
