Kings Park Branch is Now Closed!

Workers removing books from the shelves on the Main Floor of the Kings Park Branch.

The removal of all of the books on the lower level has been completed.


Workers are loading the truck with boxed books to be taken to long term storage for the duration of the expansion and renovation project.

Commack is Open!

The Commack Branch is now open to the public!

The first patron arrives early.

Smithtown work off to a good start!

The installation of the exterior insulation and vapor barrier has been completed at the Main Building.

Metal wall studs have been placed adjacent to the old main entrance as well as throughout the extension. Another interior view that shows most of the new Children's Department.
New restroom walls have been constructed in the extension.


More interior walls are in place!

Commack Opening Countdown Under Way!

The new entrance to the Commack Branch is ready for our long anticipated opening.

New library furniture works double duty. One side holds library materials while the other side will have public computers.

Public computers will be placed here displaying an excellent use of space! Public OPACs are available thoughout the library. This one is in the Children's Department.

New murals are being painted on the upper perimeters of the Children's Department. They are a generous gift from the Friends of the Smithtown Library.

Nesconset Branch Nearing Completion!

The Nesconset Branch is nearing completion! This is a view of the main entrance to the building.

What were once 5 ugly garage doors are now a beautiful bank of windows and doors leading to the Childrens Department and public Meeting Room.
