Smithtown Steel Goes Up!


Workers install heavy steel beams as part of our new expansion and renovation project.

The steel work is more than half completed. The next step will be to pour the concrete for the first floor, followed by the completion of the framing of the roof.

Nesconset Making Great Strides

The new Circulation and Reference Department areas are taking shape!



Work on the future Periodical Reading Room and Quiet Study Area is well under way.


The new main entrance to the building is under construction.



The ceiling tiles are being installed in the Main Circulation/Reference Area and the walls will be painted very soon!



The parking lots have been paved and striped. This is a view of the future front of the Nesconset Building.



The exterior portion of the Children's Department and Community Room has been completed. The outdoor patio can be used for all types of programming.

Commack Moving Ahead!

The cornerstone has been inserted near the new entrance that features a raised planting bed.

Smithtown Foundation Floor Finished


The vapor barrier for the foundation floor is being installed. This vapor barrier will prevent any moisture from seeping into the lower level.



The vapor barrier is in place and rebar has been installed prior to pouring the concrete.


Workers pour the concrete and level the surface.


The concrete floor has been poured and has begun to cure.
