Construction Updates at Commack and Nesconset!

The lower walls are completed and the steel work is in place for the main floor of the Commack Branch Children's Department. Concrete will be poured in a few days.
Here is another view of the Commack Branch's Children's Department!



On to Nesconset...


The Nesconset Branch continues to take shape! Here are some of the new electrical lines that are being installed throughout the main level.

The new elevator shaft nears completion.

The future main entrance to the building. The two side doorways are being converted to large windows. This room will be the main reference area.

Brick work almost complete in the area where the old garage bay doors once were. This section of the building will become the new Children's Department and meeting room.

Nesconset Roof Takes Shape!


The corrugated steel roof has been placed on the Nesconset building. The next step is to remove the steel sections for the new skylights. The final roof will then be installed.


Workers construct the walls for the future elevator.



On the Smithtown Blvd. side of the building, construction workers install the framework for the concrete footings on which the new brickwork will be placed. This is the former location of the main door to the old Armory.



This is the outside wall of the future Children's Department and public meeting room.
