Progress at Smithtown!

The new Periodicals Reading Room nears completion. This was the original Library in 1907 which later became one of the Children's Rooms.

Here you see a worker preparing ceiling tiles for installation. This area was formerly office
space which has been restored for public use.

This section of the mezzanine is almost finished. Once the ceiling tiles are in place, the carpet will be installed.

The new meeting room, which can be divided for multiple programs, is almost finished.

Carpeting and ceiling tiles are ready to be installed in the new Children's Department.

Smithtown Nears Completion!

Finishing touches are being added to the new front entrance to the Smithtown Main Building.

The new Children's Department begins to take shape. The ceiling grids are in place and new energy efficient light fixtures will be installed.

This is the expanded upper mezzanine level taken from the area that once housed the business office. We will be able to improve and expand our collection with this extra public space.

This is one-half of the new Community/Meeting Room located on the lower level. The high efficiency lighting panels have been installed and the ceiling tiles are ready to be installed.

The energy efficient heating system has been installed.

The new Periodicals Reading Room, formerly the old Children's Department, is ready to be painted. The lighting has been installed and the ceiling tiles will follow.
